Suffering, © Santos Moreno Villar, Spain, 1st Place, National Awards, 2017 Sony World Photography Awards My photograph is taken in the Muslim Cemetery of Potocari (Bosnia and Herzegovina), on the evening of 10 July, the eve of the commemoration of the 21st Anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre. During that afternoon I was taking pictures of the relatives of the victims that congregate every year in the cemetery of this small town. I saw this woman who was alone and who showed her face of suffering and prayed in front of the grave of a relative. Find the best angle for the shot, playing with the depth of field and the lines that gave me tombstones and framing it centered among the trees, causing its silhouette to stand out on the vegetation behind it.
